St. John’s Youth Group Mission Statement

Five Pillars:
God (Love, Prayer & Worship)

Group (Relationships, Community & Fun)

Discipleship (Learn our faith & Spiritual Growth)

Service (Charity work & Ministry)

Reaching Out (Reaching out to others, Proclaiming)

What It Means:
Our youth group exists to develop a lively relationship with Jesus Christ, to grow in love for Him, and to honor and serve Him with our whole lives!

Our group exists to deepen friendships and bonds between us, to have fun together, to grow in respect for ourselves and for each other.

Our group exists to learn more about God and our religion, to have it become exciting and real to us, and to live it out in our daily lives.

Our group exists to discover our talents and to use them to serve each other and those in the world who are in need.

Our group exists to reach out to others, religious and non-religious, to bring them into our unity, to make them feel welcome, and to help them obtain peace, fulfillment and joy.

Mission Statement In a Nutshell
 (Mt. 22:37-40; Mt. 28:18-20):
St. John’s Youth Ministry exists to help teens DEVELOP a greater love for God and His Church, to GROW in knowledge and in holiness, to DEEPEN lasting relationships with each other, to DRAW new people to our circle, and to SERVE others who are in need!

Lending a Hand?

It's a privilege to share in the vision of seeing young people carry on the faith of the Church and be firmly grounded in a vital calling from God. We are blessed when God uses us to make it happen. The commitment can be tailored to your needs; whatever works for you. There are certain times when another adult helper/leader is really needed. You can do what feels comfortable to you, from chaperoning to helping lead a meeting. Bigger commitments of time and energy, such as going on a mission trip, require more prayer and consideration before taking on, but the resulting payoff is bigger, too! It's fulfilling the vision! You would be very welcome and training is available. It requires Virtus training. Please contact Bryan Mercier or Monsignor McGrath to discuss.

Please contact BRYAN MERCIER (203-662-1217) if you are interested in finding out more about youth groups at St. John’s!

BRYAN MERCIER, Youth Minister
The youth leadership (officers) are Jack Bushell, Will FitzMaurice, Sarah Nielsen and Sebastian Kopp.
