St. John Parish has been a part of New Covenant House of Hospitality since it was started in 1978.  New Covenant House is an ecumenical inner-city soup kitchen under the auspices of the Dioceses of Bridgeport.  Located on the west West Side of Stamford, it provides nutritious meals to the poor, the homeless, and the disadvantaged of lower Fairfield County.  A hearty lunch for about 100 or so people is provided twice a month, on the second and fourth Fridays of each month, by St. John volunteers.  Catholic and Protestant Parishes from Stamford, Darien, Greenwich and New Canaan provide meals for the entire month.
