This is a newly formed ministry of parish outreach. Its main objective is one of service to the parishioners of St. John's. The committee can provide help to those needing assistance when an unexpected family crisis occurs, or when some urgent help is needed.
Needs may be the result of a recent death in the family, an illness, a new baby, or anything that disrupts what would be considered a normal daily routine.
Coordinating meals, offering a ride to Mass or a doctor's appointment, or just providing companionship and support are some of the objectives of this ministry. Initiating active help is the primary goal. This is where the whole parish can participate.
The purpose can be summed up as "people responding to the needs of people." Since there are always needs, one of our main focuses is one of communication. With the help of the parish community, both in communicating a noticed need, and by volunteering to be part of any service, this ministry has the potential to thrive.
