AN EIGHTH GRADER EXPLAINS WHY HE FEELS HE IS READY TO CELEBRATE THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION IN THE FALL 2007
“…my Religious Education classes have taught me the true meaning of being Catholic and…the Bible readings have taught me numerous life lessons…For example, one of the themes we focused on this year was about helping others. This taught me that by giving back to the community you receive a closer relationship to God… When I attend Mass I listen to the readings and I learn from the Bible teachings each week. I think about what I did the past week and I reflect on whether it was the right thing to do. These reflections keep me on the path that brings me closer to God…”

A WONDERFUL RESPONSE AND OUTPOURING OF LOVE
Many catechists involved their classes in collecting monies for the benefit of the Holy Childhood Association – a Catholic organization helping needy children worldwide since the mid 19th century.
This year the children responded beautifully donating a little over $1,000. God bless them for their generosity and their Catechists for initiating this faith-in-action activity.
