St Johns Mens Retreat St. John's Church has again joined with St. Rose of Lima in Newtown in holding a biannual retreat to renew our devotion to the Holy Spirit and Jesus and to pray for their intercession in renewing the spiritual efforts of our Parish.
The date of the
10th Biannual Retreat is Saturday and Sunday March 20 and 21st at the Retreat
House in Monroe.
The two day
Retreat will hear the testimony of 10 men of both Parishes whose personal life
has been changed by the intervention
of the Holy Spirit
and by so doing have renewed their devotion to The Spirit in their parishes.
The Retreat will
start at 8:00 AM on Saturday and after spending the night at the Retreat House
in reflection, the participants will continue to be involved in the activities
until 3:00 PM on Sunday at which time they will attend a family Mass to which
their families are invited.
The entire weekend
is structured around family life and is managed and directed by lay people of
both participating parishes.
Don Smith from our
parish is the St. John's coordinator and for the past six months has been
actively participating with forming the Spiritual Team and training with the men
of St. Rose.
The cost of the
weekend is $150 which includes the lodging and meals. A check for
registration may be sent to the St. John Office
made out to
St. John's CRHP March Retreat. For those who wish to attend and feel
unable to pay the registration fee, The St. John's

CATHOLICISM 201: MARK
YOUR CALENDARS FOR THIS LENTEN SERIES
“Catholicism 201” is a course that offers up-to-date, authentic Catholic teachings and beliefs in a video presentation followed by discussion of the material in small groups. This format was very well received by people who attended our recent Alpha Courses. In fact, Catholicism 201 was developed specifically for Catholics who “wanted more” after attending Alpha. St. John will present Catholicism 201 on Wednesday evenings in the Pierre Room from February 24 to March 31. This is a great Lenten opportunity to grow your knowledge of our faith.
